<마음의 아픔을 치료하는 방법>

 

마음이 아플 때는 어떻게 치료해야 할까요몸이 아픈 것은 침을 맞거나 약을 먹으며 치료를 받는데 마음이 아픈 것은 어떻게 치료해야 할까요?


 번째 방법은 마음의 상처를 작은 것으로 생각하는 것입니다대개 보면  것으로 생각하기 때문에 감당이  되는 것입니다내가 받은 마음의 상처가 너무나 크다 하시는 분들을 보면 권투선수가 정면으로 크게  방을 맞아 쓰러진 것과 같습니다아파하면서 일어나지를 못합니다그런데 그걸 작게 생각해 보시기 바랍니다.


자신이 받은 상처가  그렇게 크게 느껴지는가 하면 ‘나만 받는다 생각하기 때문입니다다른 사람들은  무난하고 편안하고 행복한데 나만 이런 고통을 받는다고 생각하는 것이지요하지만 지구에 태어난 인간은  그런 상처를 받게 마련입니다그러니 나만 받는  아니고  사람도 받는다고 생각해 보십시오.


신문에 나는 엄청난 일들에 비하면 내가 받은 상처는 사실 작은 일입니다내가 받은 상처를 글로 써서 신문기자에게 보낸다면 그걸 신문에 싣는 기자는  명도 없을 것입니다. “내가 이렇게 엄청난 수모를 당하고 상처를 받았으니까 대서특필해 주시오” 해봤자 그냥 쓰레기통에 버릴 것입니다작은 일이라는 얘기입니다


상처가 크게 느껴지는 다른  가지 이유는 지금의  슬픔이 영원히 변치 않는다고 생각하기 때문입니다그러나 시간이 지나면 언제 그랬느냐는 듯이 잊힙니다. “내가 그때  그랬지?” 하는 때가 옵니다아무리 죽을  같았던 일도 시간이 지나면 하찮게 여겨지는 것입니다.


장마철에 비가 굉장히 많이 오면 그런 날씨가 영원히 계속될  같지만 가을이 되면  좋아지지 않습니까변하는 것이 하늘의 섭리입니다우주에 가면 변하지 않지만 하늘 단계에서는 계절마다 변하고 하루에도  번씩 변합니다아침이 가면  저녁이 옵니다그렇게 변한다고 생각하면 가벼워질 것입니다


 번째 방법은 들어가서 허우적거리지 말고 살짝 빠져나와서 바라보는 것입니다자신과 똑같은 등신等身을 앞에 앉히고 바라보세요

 

 내가 아파하는가이렇게  원인이 무엇인가들어가 있을 때는 거기에 엉켜서 모르는데 떨어져서 바라보면  이런 일이 생겼는지 원인이 보입니다

 

 경지가 높아지면 앞에 앉힐 필요도 없이 손바닥 위에 올려놓으면 됩니다부처님 손바닥 위에 올려놓듯이자신을 손바닥 위에 올려놓고 바라보는 것입니다손바닥 위에 아파하는 자신을 올려놓으면 아주 작게 느껴집니다

 

앞에 앉아있을 때만 해도 넘지 못할 산처럼 크게 느껴질  있는데 손바닥 위에 올려놓으면 아주 작게 느껴집니다그러면서 자신이 조절할  있는 재료로 변합니다이렇게 하면 아픔의 원인이 밝혀지고 점점 작게 보이게  것입니다.

 

 번째 방법은 거기에서 교훈을 얻는 것입니다우리에게 다가오는 모든 일들은 경험을 얻어 풍부해지고 자신의 역사를 만드는  외에는 다른 의미가 없습니다그러니  일에서 경험과 배움을 얻었다면 그냥 마음의 주머니에 넣으십시오

 

 일은 현재가 아닌 과거의 일입니다내가 얻을 것을 얻었다면  다음에는 이미 지나간 일입니다그냥 경험으로 생각하면 되는 것입니다현재의 자신을 좌지우지하지 않도록 창고나 주머니에 넣어버리면 됩니다.

 

이렇게  가지 과정을 거치면 마음의 상처가 치유됩니다만약 상처를  받게 되면 다시 이런 방법으로 치유하십시오그러다 보면 단련이 되어서 나중에는 어떤 상처를 받아도 아무렇지 않을  있을 것입니다살짝 아프고 맙니다아무는 속도도 빠를 것이고요.

How to Heal the Pain of the Mind

 

When your mind is sick, how should you cure it?  When your body is sick, you can cure your body by taking acupuncture or medicine. However, how can you cure the sick mind?

 

The first method is to consider the wound of mind to be small. In general, people cannot bear the wound because they consider it to be significant. When I look at those who think that the wounds of their minds are too huge, they are like boxers who have been knocked down by a hard punch on the nose. They feel so painful and cannot stand up. Consider your pain to be minor.

 

You feel your wound so big because you think, “Only I get hurt.” You think that only you suffer from such pain while others live easy, comfortable and happy lives. However, it is a matter of course that all humans born on the earth get such wounds. Thus, think that not only you but the ones next to you also get hurt.   

 

Compared to the unbelievable things reported in newspapers, the wound you got is actually a tiny incident. If you write about your wounds and send it to reporters, no reporter will put it in their newspapers. Although you say, “I got incredibly insulted and hurt like this. Please make my story the headline,” they would just throw it into a trash can. That is, your story is small.

 

Another reason why your wound feels so big is that you think that your sorrow at the moment will not change forever. However, as time goes by, it will be forgotten before you know it. The time when you will wonder why you did so at that time will come. As time passes, no matter how much it hurt you to death, it will be regarded as trivial.  

 

When it rains heavily in the rainy season, the weather seems to last forever. However, the weather clears up again when autumn comes, doesn’t it? Change is a providence of heaven. Nothing changes in the universe, but things change every season and even several times a day at the stage of heaven. If the morning goes by, the evening comes. If you think that things would change in such a way, you will become lighter. 

 

The second method is to not flounder inside the situation but to get out of the situation a little and look at it from a distance. Place a life-size version of one who is precisely the same as yourself in front of you, and look at it.

 

Why am I so painful? What caused this? When you are inside the situation, you are entangled there and do not know the reason. However, when you get away from the situation and watch it from a distance, you can see why it happened.

 

If your level becomes upper, you do not need to place the life-size one of you in front of you. Just place it on your palm. As Buddha places the entire world on his palm, put yourself on your palm and watch it. If you put on your palm yourself who is suffering from pain, your pain feels tiny. 


When you put yourself in front of you, you may still feel it too large, like a mountain that you cannot go over. If you place yourself on your palm, it feels very small. Then, it turns into materials that you can control. In this way, the cause of your pain will be revealed, and your pain will be seen as smaller and smaller. 


The third method is to get lessons from it. All things that come to you have no significance but that you are enriched by attaining experiences from them and that you create your own history. Thus, once you have got experiences and learnings from the incident, put it into your mind pouch as it is.


The incident is that of not the present but the past. If you gain what you are supposed to gain, it is already what has passed. You can consider it just as an experience. You can put it in a warehouse or a pouch to not let it control the present you.  

 

If you go through these three processes, the wound in your mind will be healed. If you get another wound, heal it in this way again. While you are repeating this, you will be trained and would be fine no matter which wound you may get. It will end soon after hurting you just a little. The healing speed will be faster too.
