마음공부를 위한 우주기
仙계수련은 마음공부입니다. 기로 하는 것은 마음공부를 하기 위한 기반을 조성하기 위해 필요한 것이며, 결국은 마음으로 갈 수 밖에 없습니다.
마음공부는 3가지가 있는데 첫째는 마음을 낮추는 것 즉, 겸손해지는 것이고, 둘째는 마음을 비우는 것이고, 셋째는 마음을 조절하는 것입니다. 마음을 낮추다 보면 사물이 제대로 보이고, 마음을 비우다 보면 무심의 경지에 들어가서 편견 없이 공정하게 보이고, 또 그럴 때 마음을 조절할 수 있습니다.
마음은 어떻게 갈고 닦는가? 생각만 한다고 되는 것은 아닙니다. 마음이란 게 형체가 없고 너무 추상적이기 때문입니다. 그래서 기운의 힘을 빌려오는 방법을 씁니다. 우주기를 계속 받음으로써 알게 모르게 마음이 비워집니다. 우주기는 비우게 하는 기운이기 때문입니다. 우주는 원래 비어 있는 곳이기에 우주기에는 비우는 성질이 있는 것이지요.
쇠 같은 것도 오래 두다 보면 공기, 기운에 의해 마모되는 것을 볼 수 있습니다. 도저히 부서질 수 없을 것 같은 강철도 기운에 의해 마모됩니다. 형태가 없는 마음에 자꾸 뭔가를 담아두면 돌덩이처럼 딱딱하게 굳어져서 벽이 생기는데, 비어 있는 곳에서 오는 비어 있는 기운을 받으면 자꾸 마모되고 부서지고 형체가 없어져서 결국은 비워집니다. 그런 능력이 있기 때문에 우주기를 빌려오는 것입니다.

The cosmic energy for the mind study
Seongye Practice is the study of the mind. Practicing with gi is needed to establish a foundation for the mind study, but you have to go towards the mind eventually.
There are three things in the mind study. The first is to lower your mind, that is to say, to become humble, the second is to empty your mind, and the third is to control your mind. If you lower your mind, you can correctly see things, and as you empty your mind, you can enter the stage of musim and see things fairly without prejudice; and in these conditions, you can control your mind.
How can you cultivate your mind? You cannot do that only by thinking. That is because a mind has no form but is too abstract. That is why we use the method of borrowing the power of energy. Through continuing to receive the cosmic energy, your mind becomes emptied unwittingly. That is because cosmic energy is the energy that makes one empty. Because the universe is originally an empty space, the universe energy has the attribute of emptying.
You can see that iron even becomes eroded by air and energy if you leave it as it is for a long time. Steel that appears unbreakable at all even becomes eroded by energy. If you stack things in your mind which is originally shapeless, your mind becomes stiff like a stone and forms walls; but if you continue receiving the empty energy from the empty space, the walls continuously become worn out, broken, shapeless; and emptied after all. We borrow the universe energy because it has the ability.
